Description: Dreamweavers are flying pests with the bodies of spiders and the wings of a moth. Breathe-in their blue weaver powder and you'll get extremely long dreams. How long? 8 hours in reality, an entire lifetime in dream land. Victims of a Dreamweaver live out their entire lives, have children and grandchildren, feel all of life's sadness and joy, grow old and die, and more, all in the same dream. Only to wake up the following morning to find themselves young again with a Dreamweaver's web above their bed. The dreams are, of course, complete fantasy. The friends you make along the way, the things you build, the family you love in the dream, none of them are real, but they feel real and that's what drives so many victims Weaver Powder to suicide.

There's only one way to know if you're caught in a Weaver dream and that's by the way you die. You can only die by old age. Sure you can hurt yourself, catch a cold and generally feel pain, but for some reason you can't die that way, the dream won't let you. The only way to escape the dream, is to ride it out. It only lets you go after expiring from old age. If you throw yourself off a building and die from impact then congratulations, you were in reality after all.

There really isn't anyway to know if you're in reality or a dream. The usual methods for determining if a person is in a dream, like pinching your skin or trying to read complicated books, don't work in a Weaver dream because the powder is that strong. Weaver dreams are pretty normal so you be gaining superpowers or anything like that either.

It's better for older guys because they only live out ten or twenty years in a dream, while young'uns can get dream fifty or more.

A weaver's web is easily distinguished by the extremely detailed and trippy mandala-like designs that no spider could ever possibly create unless it were an Aberrant. The webs look like something you would find in the Vatican or the Louvre than on the rafters over your bed.

Background: The most widely accepted belief is that Dreamweavers were native to Western Africa and were brought to South America through the slave trade where they then proceeded to spread up north. The second most popular theory is that an African spider species somehow mated with a South-American moth species and made spider-moth hybrids. This is based on the bayou legend that claims the Dreamweavers are the children of Anansi, the African spider god, and the Aztec Itzpapalotl, who is both butterfly goddess and star demon.

Location and Population: Dreamweavers live mostly in the bayou with only a few breeds being able to survive in North America's colder forest climate. It is unknown if there are any population clusters in Asia and Europe. They can't live in the desert or any place that lacks humidity. Most of them live in rural areas but can also live in urban areas with a small human population. Warders who like urban exploration have often reported colonies of Dreamweavers in abandoned buildings. They will usually spin their webs in high up places, at the very top of trees or in the top corners of a home or cabin. Dreamweavers will rarely spin a web close to the ground unless they are sick or injured.

Hunting or Procurement Methods: The Dreamweaver's bite is not poisonous and no worse than a bite from the average house-spider. Despite it's devastating psychological effect, the powder produced from its wings is non-fatal. If the powder is inhaled, you can try to remove it by eating spicy food such as buffalo wings or curry in an attempt to remove the powder through a runny nose but it will probably be too late. When inhaled, Weaver Powder quickly enters the bloodstream where it remains dormant, waiting for you to go to sleep so it can activate. Just go to sleep and enjoy the ride. You'll wake up tomorrow, though if you're young, it might feel like 50 years for you. The body cleans itself of Powder through nocturnal emission after only one night of sleep. So if you exterminated one Dreamweaver but you're having multiple lifespan dreams, it means there are still more you haven't found yet.

Warders are advised to wear air-filter masks when killing Dreamweavers and cleaning their webs unless they want to have very long dreams. The quality of masks should be the same as dealing with any blue-level airborne neurotoxin. After cleaning up the webs, regular bug spray and other methods for killing spiders and moths will also kill Dreamweavers, however they are adept hiders and will often return after the warder leaves.

If things get really bad, spray 9 parts water to 1 parts lizard urine around the house, particularly on corners on the ceiling and chandeliers. Dreamweavers will flee and abandon their webs if they sense a lizard is nearby. You can also play lizard sounds native to the area on constant loop. Finally, you can always get a pet lizard and let it roam around the house.

When hunting, do not use dogs, cats or any other non-reptilian animals as Dreamweaver powder has a similar effect on them as on humans.

Senior or elderly Warders should be used to hunt Dreameavers as accidentally inhaling the powder for them is less annoying than for a 20-something since they would experience a shorter remaining lifetime while a young-warder may experience multiple decades and may be driven insane. Respected Senior Warders often complain that they have nothing to do and so should be more than happy to volunteer with Dreamweaver extermination.

Additional Notes: Activity level of "Weaver Powder" has been ramping up on the blackmarket and being sold as psychedelic. Mixing Weaver Powder with other drugs can cause normans to go on random murder sprees.
